You may not immediately recognize the Mandam brand, but chances are you’ve seen its robust cultivation machinery in action. Since its founding in 1991, this Polish manufacturer has evolved from building equipment under OEM licenses for major European brands to focusing on its own Mandam-branded machines — now gaining momentum in export markets like the UK, and increasingly, Africa.

Headquartered in Gliwice, Poland, with two manufacturing sites and plans to boost output to 2,000 machines annually, Mandam is a true symbol of Poland’s post-Soviet industrial transformation. From disc harrows and stubble cultivators to seeders and weeding tools, over 70% of its production is exported to 38 countries. Japan currently leads the export list, but new strategic growth is focused on developing a UK dealer network and entering African export markets, especially those with expanding mechanized agriculture sectors.

The company, owned by four Polish families, maintains full control over innovation and quality. One of its standout engineering feats is the development of a maintenance-free disc harrow bearing that withstands up to 90Nm of force — a game-changer that allowed Mandam to offer a 5-year hub warranty. These components, like most of Mandam’s machines, are manufactured in-house, ensuring agile development, fast adaptation to customer needs, and a consistent focus on durability and performance.

Mandam’s agile R&D approach is anchored by a design team that includes active farmers and close cooperation with local field testers. “We test all prototypes for at least a year before launching, and can quickly tweak our designs based on customer feedback,” says company director Jerzy Księżyk.

Now looking beyond Central Europe, Mandam is investing inlarger machinery (8m–12m widths) and modular designs that offer flexibility for contractors. Its collaboration with partners like APV and Italian manufacturers is allowing it to integrate seeding systems, slurry applicators, and Isobus precision technology, enhancing its machines’ versatility across diverse terrains and farming practices.

With growing interest from African distributors and agri-export companies, Mandam sees strong potential in markets where high-quality, competitively priced European equipment is in demand. “We believe we can match any premium brand in quality while offering better value,” says Jerzy.

Set to launch new products at Agritechnica, including Cambridge rollers and a next-gen stubble cultivator, Mandam is gearing up for its next chapter: becoming a household name not just in Poland or Europe — but in emerging agricultural economies around the globe.
